They were probably sourced from the same subcontractors. FWIW, the saddles and rest of the trem are almost surely not US made as they differ from US made parts from that era, but they do match closely to the ones used on Fender Japan guitars from that time period.

The Fender stamped saddles and Gotoh made tuners are found on the E10 serial MIK Squiers also. They are essentially the same as the Young Chang made E10 Squiers but with a different decal.

These MIK Fenders were made for sale in the pacific rim and weren't intended to be imported to the US, although some have made it here. Any ino would be great? Would love to find out the year it was made, etc. The Serial # is E1047413 Maple neck with skunk stripe and rosewood fret board.

I'd like to restore what I can on it, and keep it for personal playing and sentimental value. It's all Fender original parts.Īnybody have any info on how I'd be able to find out what year it was made? It's in pretty good shape considering the age and storage of it. I know these models are pretty rare to find,(usually find the Japan models) I think they were made for european release only, or something of that nature, and then made their way here somehow. I just like to find out the history of things with nostalgic value. Curiosity kicked in, because his memory was vague on when he got it, but it was late 80's for sure. I have a les paul that I'm starting on, so he gave me the strat to mess around with too.

It's never getting sold, it was his first guitar. He couldn't remember when he got it, but it's from the late 80's - early 90's era. I recently acquired a used Fender Stratocaster from my brother.
